Tatiana joins Central Asia Solidarity Groups!

Hi, my name is Tatiana and it is my absolute honor and pleasure to join the Central Asia Solidarity Groups! I am from St. Petersburg, where I completed my master’s degree in International Relations in Post-Soviet space. I’ve always had a strong interest in human rights and democratization, and a big part of my master thesis focused specifically on the developments around civil society in the former Soviet republics. Becoming part of CAG is a great opportunity to learn how the civil society in the region operates in practice!

Having studied in Poland and in Austria as an exchange student, as well as having worked in the field of international mobility in educational institutions in Russia, I believe in the benefits of intercultural dialogue and immersing oneself in an international context. I also believe in the importance of advocating for social justice and a democratic society. My civic engagement experience involves regional elections observations in Russia and volunteering for small organizations in St Petersburg. I am excited to expand my experience and increase my knowledge about international development cooperation, which CAG has been increasingly working with in the past years.

I’m very much looking forward to learning more about the interesting and complex region that is Central Asia, as well as engaging myself in the work of the organization. And I hope that my academic and professional background will be useful for my new colleagues at CAG and our partners!

All best wishes,
Tatiana
