Arbetarnas Bildningsförbund, (ABF) translates to Workers’ Educational Association and is the largest study association in Sweden. ABF is a non-governmental organization, based on a clear set of values. ABF is party politically independent but with values that coincide with the labor movement and its aim to counteract the class society.
Abai is a Stockholm-based organization that works with women, children, and young people from Central Asia in Sweden. The association provides education and crafts courses for women and children from Central Asia.
Dotterbolaget is a feminist comics collective which was started in Malmö in Spring 2005.
The makers collective Forma is a multicultural collective of creative individuals who are united in the belief that crafts and the act of creation have a very important role to play in a more inclusive and life-affirming society. Forma is based at Stenkrossen in Lund, though a number of its projects are carried out in other parts of the country. Forma advocates for democracy, equality and human rights.
MÄN is a Swedish member based non-profit organization. Since 1993 they work to advance gender equality, combat men’s violence and redefine masculinity. They engage men and boys to challenge stereotypical masculinities.
Vardagens civilkurage is a member-based organization that promotes grassroot activism, democracy and equality. They facilitate practical trainings, in which they train to intervene against oppression, discrimination and injustice in everyday lives.
The Swedish Aral Sea Society (SASS) works to spread information about the Aral Sea and the environmental disaster and work for democracy and development in the area.
Founded in 2004, Östgruppen is working to strengthen democracy and to cast light on human rights abuses in Eastern Europe. By cooperating with many organizations from mainly Belarus and Russia, they support their partners’ important work, and through volunteer and expert network in Sweden, they raise interest and increase knowledge about the situation in their focus countries.
