Reviving the Roots: project update 🪱🌿 As p Reviving the Roots: project update 🪱🌿

As part of our partnership with @eltoo_kyrgyzstan , we are currently in the research phase of our project to improve soil health in Kyrgyzstan. Over the past weeks, we’ve been conducting interviews and focus groups with local smallholder farmers, soil experts, and civil society representatives. These conversations are helping us better understand traditional knowledge, current challenges, and visions for sustainable soil care. 💬👩‍🌾

The findings will shape the next steps of our project. By grounding our work in local traditional knowledge, we seek to restore the deep-rooted respect for soil as a living ecosystem and empower farmers to adopt sustainable agriculture practices. 🌱

More updates coming soon!

The project aims to address land degradation — an issue that significantly impacts smallholder farmers and food security in the country.

In the project, we will engage with farmers to revive local and historical perceptions of soil and raise awareness among smallholders on soil health. Our approach combines culture, art, local ecological knowledge, and permaculture principles.
