Dariya Talanova

Dariya Talanova was born in Bishkek on the 8^th of December in 1995. At a young age, she has become a professional athlete specializing in swimming breaststroke. As a child, she did gymnastics and did not find a passion for swimming until her early teenage years. Talanova participated in a national championship in Bishkek in 2013, and at the age of 15, she had competed in the World Championships held in Shanghai, which was the first time she flew internationally.

She has already competed in two Olympic Games – in London (2012) and Rio de Janeiro (2016). Even though she ranked low in these competitions, Talanova shows that it is never too late to start working towards your dream. Considering her rather short experience in swimming, even being chosen to represent her country at the Olympic games becomes a success in itself. Currently, she is studying in the United States of America, and aims to become a sports manager.
