In collaboration with El-Too, we work to promote permaculture principles and other innovative solutions for climate change adaptation in Kyrgyzstan.

🌾🌱From August 10th to 11th, El-Too organized an exchange tour for project participants from nine villages in Issyk-Kul and Naryn, with a total of 55 individuals.
During this tour, participants had the opportunity to come together in person, exchange ideas, and share their experiences while learning about best practices for climate change adaptation. They collectively brainstormed strategies for spreading permaculture principles.

🥬🍑El-Too also organized the ”Red Apricot” organic food fair by Issyk-Kul lake. There, the participants not only exchanged their ideas but also displayed and sold their products to each other and to people vacationing on one of the popular beaches of Issyk-Kul. 🌊

Exciting update from our partner @isdsfund from Ky Exciting update from our partner @isdsfund from Kyrgyzstan! Together, we work to protect biodiversity and encourage sustainable livelihoods in Son-Kul lake in the Kyrgyz mountains.

On August 11, ISDS organized a festival to raise awareness about the conservation of the Son-Kul ecosystem and the endangered mountain goose. The disappearance of migratory bird species poses a grave threat to biodiversity, not only locally but also nationally and globally.

The festival’s goal was to engage the local community and youth in preserving the ecosystem of Lake Son-Kul and enhance the environmental responsibility among local residents.

The event brought together activists, school students, pasture users, local government bodies, experts, ornithologists, media, and civil society representatives.

The program featured a range of engaging activities, including a theatrical performance, a flashmob, a children’s art exhibition, a quiz for local school children, awarding traditional ecological knowledge and practices, and a concert program.

Stay tuned for a short movie from the festival! 📽️🌿

📣 Updates from our partner organization in Taji 📣 Updates from our partner organization in Tajikistan, @little.earth.tj !

Together with Little Earth, we work with the mountain communities of the Yaghnob Valley to reduce energy poverty, unsustainable environmental practices, and to increase the scope of women’s participation in decision-making.

📝⛰️From July 25 to July 27, Little Earth organized a study tour for 10 women participating in the project. The tour aimed to foster connections between project participants and local organizations involved in women's support, tourism development, and promotion of local business initiatives.

💡🌱 In the end of June, we provided 20 sets of energy-saving equipment to the most vulnerable families in the villages of the Yaghnob Valley. Each set includes a parabolic solar kitchen, a solar lighting system with three tube lamps, a USB port for charging gadgets, and a pressure cooker.

📖🌏 Little Earth also organized two rounds of training on ecosystem services and on sustainable energy solutions, attended by 20 local women from nearby villages. The training also included practical demonstrations and guidance on utilizing the equipment sets provided to the project participants.

Stay tuned for more updates and check out the website of @little.earth.tj to learn more about collaboration! 🌎🌱
